WelcomeDear NJ Wing and other fellow CAP members:  The dates for the NJ Wing 2007 Basic Encampment have been set! Mark your calendars, this year's encampment promises to be an outstanding event for Basic Cadets, Staff and CAP Officers. The Basic Encampment will begin with registration from 1500 to 1800 on Friday, 29 June 2007 and graduation ceremonies will begin at 1600 hours on Friday, 6 July 2007. We will be billeted at the USAF Expeditionary Center (formerly the Air Mobility Warfare Center) at Fort Dix, NJ. Those of you who were at the 2002 and 2003 NJ encampments will remember this location, which has been renovated and further updated since the last occasion CAP used them. We are planning a challenging and enjoyable activity -- one that truly exemplifies the spirit of the Cadet Program Encampment as the most important single event in a CAP Cadet's career. For every cadet in New Jersey and surrounding wings that need Basic Encampment for their Mitchell Award, eligibility for NCSAs, or simply to progress in the Cadet Program, this will be the "must attend" encampment in 2007. Further details (prices, application forms, packing lists, etc.) will be published on this web site in the coming days. I wanted to get this message out to you now so that you could reserve the dates on your calendar. I look forward to seeing another year of cadets progress through the Basic Encampment as the gateway to the rest of their individual CAP Cadet career. Much of the staff is in place, but there are still selected positions we need to fill. If you are a cadet interested in serving on staff, contact the Cadet Commander, C/Maj.
