Civil Air Patrols Aerospace Education Program
Offers New Opportunities for Home Schoolers
September 13, 2022 - Leading the charge to present new Aerospace Education Membership opportunities, New Jersey Wing (NJWG) Director of Aerospace Education Lieutenant Colonel Michael Castania along with Captain Robert McClellan, NJWG Director of Recruiting and Retention attended the 2022 North Jersey Home Schoolers Association's Annual Meeting and Activities Fair which was held at the Hawthorne Gospel Church in Hawthorn, New Jersey.
According to Castania, this is an untapped resource and can provide educational opportunities ranging from 40 K-12 curricular materials and 21 STEM Kits and even include the opportunity for educators to participate in the TOP Flight (teacher orientation flight) program. This unique membership category is designed for formal or informal educators involved in promoting aerospace/STEM education in classrooms, homeschools, museums, libraries, or other youth organizations. Over 200 Homeschool Educators and their children were in attendance, which provided a large and diverse group of educators the opportunity to be introduced to Civil Air Patrol's Aerospace Education Membership program.
