Civil Air Patrol Cadet Earns Private Pilot Certificate Through Cadet WINGS Program
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE–DIX–LAKEHURST, N.J. (June 16, 2026) — Civil Air Patrol Cadet 1st Lt. Jasleen Kaur of the Air Victory Museum Composite Squadron has earned her Private Pilot Certificate through Civil Air Patrol's Cadet WINGS Program, achieving a significant milestone in her aviation journey.
The Cadet WINGS Program helps aspiring young aviators gain flight training and experience while pursuing their pilot certifications. Kaur's accomplishment reflects months of dedication, training and perseverance.
New Jersey Wing Commander Col. Amy Myzie congratulated Kaur on her achievement.
"I am so proud of your efforts and accomplishments in marking this milestone in your aviation career," Myzie said. "Earning a private pilot certificate is a tremendous achievement and a testament to your hard work, commitment and passion for aviation."
Myzie noted that Kaur is now eligible to continue flying Civil Air Patrol aircraft and maintain her proficiency as a pilot. She encouraged the cadet to begin the onboarding process that will allow her to fly CAP aircraft as part of her continued aviation development.
Kaur expressed her gratitude for the support she received throughout her training.
"This would not have been possible without your support and encouragement," Kaur said. "I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and will make every effort to give back to CAP by flying, mentoring and sharing my learnings."
As a certified private pilot, Kaur joins a select group of Civil Air Patrol cadets who have achieved this distinction while still participating in the organization's cadet program. Her accomplishment exemplifies Civil Air Patrol's commitment to developing the next generation of aerospace leaders through hands-on aviation education and training.
