Three Cadets Represent NJ Wing on International Air Cadet Exchange
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE–DIX–LAKEHURST, N.J. (Aug. 18, 2026) — Three Civil Air Patrol cadets from the New Jersey Wing represented the United States and Civil Air Patrol this summer as participants in the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE), joining hundreds of cadets from 13 nations for a life-shaping experience combining aviation, leadership, cultural immersion and international friendship.
The New Jersey Wing cadets participating in this year’s exchange were C/Col. Amit Sail of Raritan Valley Composite Squadron and C/Lt. Col. Floria Nehe of Bud Jackson Composite Squadron, who traveled to Great Britain, and C/Lt. Col. Yog Manani of Allentown Composite Squadron, who traveled to Australia.
Each summer, IACE brings together cadets from 13 nations and four continents to broaden their understanding of aviation and foreign cultures while promoting goodwill and fellowship through their shared interest in aviation. Participants meet cadets from their host countries as well as aviation cadets representing nations from around the world, creating opportunities to develop friendships that transcend national boundaries.
“These three cadets represented the very best of the New Jersey Wing and Civil Air Patrol,” said Col. Amy Myzie, commander of the New Jersey Wing. “IACE challenges cadets to step beyond what they know, experience other cultures and build relationships that transcend national boundaries. We are incredibly proud of Amit, Floria and Yog for representing our wing and our nation with professionalism, curiosity and enthusiasm.”
Civil Air Patrol has represented the United States in IACE for more than 75 years. CAP cadets selected for the exchange are recognized for their integrity, leadership ability, keen interest in aviation and foreign cultures, and willingness to share their experiences with fellow cadets, family members and their communities.
“IACE gives our cadets an opportunity that goes far beyond seeing another country,” said Maj. Phil Crocker, New Jersey Wing cadet programs director. “They experience aviation from an international perspective, learn firsthand about other cultures and return home with a broader understanding of the world and their own responsibilities as leaders. Amit, Floria and Yog have brought home experiences and friendships that will stay with them for a lifetime.”
During their exchanges, the cadets participated in aviation and aerospace activities, cultural tours, outdoor adventures and official events. Activities can include aircraft and simulator flights, visits to aviation and military facilities, cultural excursions, high-adventure activities and formal gatherings with international counterparts.
For the three New Jersey Wing cadets, the experience also provided an opportunity to serve as ambassadors for Civil Air Patrol and the United States while gaining firsthand insight into the cultures, aviation programs and traditions of their host nations.
Their experiences will continue beyond the exchange as they share what they learned with fellow Civil Air Patrol cadets, their families and communities throughout New Jersey.
